Musicians of all genres were present for the 2018 Grammy Awards, held at Madison Square Garden and hosted by James Corden. Although no country artists were nominated for the main all-genre awards, country music was well-represented at the ceremony on Sunday night (Jan. 28).
There are four country genre categories including Best Country Solo Performance. Previous winners for this category include Darius Rucker for “Wagon Wheel,” Carrie Underwood for “Blown Away” as well as “Something In The Water,” and last year, Maren Morris took home the gramophone for her song “My Church.”
2018’s nominees were as follows:
“Body Like A Back Road” — Sam Hunt
“Losing You” –Alison Krauss
“Tin Man” — Miranda Lambert
“I Could Use A Love Song” — Maren Morris
“Either Way” — Chris Stapleton
It is no surprise that Chris Stapleton, three-time 2018 Grammy nominee, took home this award since he did so in 2016 for “Traveller.” While “Either Way” wasn’t a huge chart success, peaking at No. 26, it’s proved to be loved by critics and fans.
Congratulations, Chris Stapleton on your well-deserved win!
