For five year old Joshua John and his family, Alan Jackson's song "I'll Fly Away" is somewhat of an anthem. It's a song they listen to together often and JDub, as he likes to be called, is a huge Alan fan. Battling Stage 4 hepatoblastoma, a cancer invading his lungs and liver, JDub wished for nothing more than to meet his idol.
Well, thanks to his followers on Facebook, JDub was given the opportunity to meet Alan in Nashville and it is an experience he and his family won't forget any time soon. When Alan found out about this young fan, he had a private jet pick him and his family up, and fly them to Nashville where he spent the day with JDub at the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Alan gave him gifts, took pictures with him, showed him around the exhibit and even played a private show for him on a guitar he signed for the boy. The video shows all the touching moments between JDub and Alan, with it all ending with a sweet hug that brings tears to your eyes.
