From the time she was a young girl, June Carter was destined for the stage. As a member of the famous Carter family, she did it all! Dancing, singing, songwriting, acting, and making people laugh were all talents she excelled in. Her vivacious spirit is something that will always be remembered, along with the memories she left behind on film.
June was born on June 23, 1929 in Maces Springs, Virginia. She was always making audiences laugh with her quick-witted jokes, and never skipped beat. Most of her life was spent on the stage, performing with her family and then later in life with husband, Johnny Cash. June and Johnny were and still are an iconic couple, with a love that stood the test of time. Their music has even transcended generations, which shows true talent!
In the video below we see a young June at the Grand Ole Opry. She cracks a few jokes and proceeds to sing "He Don't Love Me Anymore". This rare performance is a must see!
Rest in peace, beautiful June!
