Rock & roll legend Elvis Presley gives "America the Beautiful" a rockabilly makeover you never knew you needed.
Recorded in 1975, Elvis gives all other covers of the patriotic anthem a run for their money with his powerful rendition of the 19th century work of art. His signature vocals are at the top of their game, flawlessly hitting every note without fail.
Elvis singing the ultra American lyrics of "America! America! God shed His grace on thee, And crown thy good with brotherhood. From sea to shining sea!" is everything you would hope for from "The King."
"America the Beautiful" was originally written as a poem by Katharine Lee Bates in 1895 with the intention to be apart of a special Fourth of July church sermon. In the century since the song's birth it has risen high in prominence reaching almost a status of national importance as the "Star Spangled Banner."
