In this emotional and touching video we see U.S. Army soldier, Stephen Stromberg, brave the war zone that is Iraq to step into the Euphrates River in order to declare to the world that he’s decided to follow God.

Through this video taken outside of Rawah, Anbar Province, we get to see the process of Stephen, the Chaplain, and his fellow soldiers ready themselves to experience this beautiful declaration that’s known as baptism.

Set to the popular worship song, “Oceans” by Hillsong, this powerful moment will bring you to tears. Being able to experience something this important is really something. Stephen writes, “It was a powerful day in my life worth sharing with the world,” and urges people to share the video.

Thanks to the wind, dust, and mist that produced low visibility, they were able to perform the baptism because it provided protection. Without their weapons and armor, it was definitely needed.

Grab your tissues. You’ll need ’em.
