Uncle Si recently visited Dothan, AL for a charity event that supported the Wiregrass Children's Home. The organization provides a safe haven for neglected and abused children throughout Southeast Alabama. The homes are available for children up to the age of 18, and their goal is to give them a place full of comfort and love to grow and learn and have somewhat of a normal childhood.
Uncle Si got to spend the weekend in Dothan to help with this charity. He spent his Friday doing a meet and greet, where he meet many of the children that are part of the homes and then on Saturday he did "A Night of Songs and Stories with Uncle Si". When asked if he liked Dothan, he immediately responded with:
"I like it. It's a country town surrounded by peanuts, which should bring a lot of ducks. Now all I've gotta do is get permission to hunt 'em."
Always thinking about those ducks and hunting. But also about God and his grace. Uncle Si attributes his celebrity status to God and that is all "because [of] His doing".
