Ah! We can hardly contain our excitement!
Blue Bell Creameries (founded in 1907 in Brenham, TX) recently announced that they will be returning to select grocery stores in Texas at the end of August. Back in April of 2015, the company was forced to recall all of their products and halt production due to a Listeria outbreak, which is a potentially fatal bacteria.
In a recent press release, the VP of sales and marketing, Ricky Dickson, said
Over the past several months we have been working to make our facilities even better, and to ensure that everything we produce is safe, wholesome and of the highest quality for you to enjoy. This is an exciting time for us as we are back to doing what we love…making ice cream!
Sounds like they are coming back bigger and better than ever – real Texas style!
The company plans to roll out the new release in five phases, since they only have one of their facilities completely up and running. The first phase will of course be in select areas of Texas, including the Brenham, Houston and Austin areas, as well as select parts of Alabama. The next phases (as stated in the companies press release) will go as follows:
