When Willie Robertson found out the Governor of Louisiana was coming to visit Duck Commander, he wanted to put his best foot forward.
He asked his employees, which consists of his brothers, uncle, and his friends, to clean the warehouse for their special guest. Willie came in the warehouse to remind the guys that Governor Bobby Jindal will be arriving in a few hours, and they were all playing basketball!
He told them again to clean and left to get ready. When he came back in his signature white blazer, they were still playing basketball! Not amused, Willie said, "Guys, the Governor will be here any moment!"
Little did he know, Governor Jindal had already arrived, and was playing basketball with Jep, Jase, Uncle Si, Martin, Godwin and John Luke!
Once the ceremony actually began, John Luke introduced Governor Jindal, who said,
"We are presenting our first Governor's Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence in the state of Louisiana. This is a great family owned and run business. You got multiple generations in the same family working together, praying together, and living together. So it is my honor and proviledge to present the Governor's Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence to Willie, the CEO of Duck Commander."
The whole Robertson family was there to support Willie and looked extremely proud of their him. Jase even had some nice things to say about his younger brother.
"Do I think Willie deserves the award? I actually do! To take something so simple and to make it a multi-million dollar operation, legally, is actually quite impressive. At the same time, I'm a bit humbled that the Governor is actually coming to our place of business and personally handing out the award, which I'm grateful for."
Congratulations, Willie! You deserve it! Watch the video below to see the whole presentation.
