When Randy Travis was asked, “Where were you on 9/11/2001, nine years ago?” by Mike Huckabee on Fox News, his response was all to similar to what would have been our own.
Travis revealed he was at his house getting ready to embark on a string of shows out of town. He barely had enough time to have a cup of coffee before he got a phone call.
“Jeff Davis, our tour manager called and in his words he said, ‘Turn on the television, we are under attack it looks like,’ so I got television on about the time the second plane hit.“
After telling his story of where he was when the world stopped turning, he performed the heart-wrenching song, “America Will Always Stand”. Randy tugged at our heartstrings as he sang the powerful words,
“She stands in the face of evil
And will not lose hope or faith
America, the land of freedom
Still the home of the brave.”
We’re sure there was not a dry eye in the room after this performance because this
A little over a month after the 9/11 tragedy, Randy released the two-track patriotic album, America Will Always Stand. The album featured the powerful song, “America Will Always Stand” and the emotional tune, “Point Of Light”.
Over the past decade, America has proven that we are “still the home of the brave”. Our hearts go out to all lives lost that day.
