Bonnie Brown, a member of the country singing trio, The Browns, revealed today that she has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer.
This news came after she and her siblings, Jim Ed, and Maxine, who form The Browns, were elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame. She made this devastating announcement at a luncheon honoring the new Hall of Fame inductees.
"I have been diagnosed with Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma right lung cancer. I have recently undergone tests to determine the best type of treatment for this horrible disease, Bonne said. "This news came as a shock to our family as we are still mourning the loss of my big brother, Jim Ed, who passed away from the same cancer in June."
We hope the best for Bonnie. She and her family are in our thoughts.
One of The Brown's most famous songs, "The Three Bells", is about the three stages of life of 'Jimmy Brown' --his birth, marriage, and his death. Watch one of their earliest performances of that song below.
