With more than 20 singles that have charted on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Charts, there's no arguing that Montgomery Gentry is one of the most successful duos in country music history.
One of the duo's most recognizable songs is "My Town," which was released in June 2002 on their album of the same title. The song peaked at the #5 spot on the U.S. country charts at #40 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Both Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry are from the same county in Kentucky, and actually filmed the song's music video in that same county!
During a performance of "My Town" at the Grand Ole Opry in 2013, Eddie encourages the audience to participate:
"If you know this song I want to hear you sing it. Because I think no matter where you go in this world, you always take a little piece of your hometown with you in your heart."
The duo delivers an energetic performance, with Eddie grabbing his microphone stand and holding it up in the air. Their love of their hometown is clear in their performance, since both of them can't seem to stop smiling.
It's nice to see that even after obtaining fame and fortune, Montgomery Gentry has never forgotten about their hometown.
