You can always count on Blake Shelton to tell things how they really are. At his five time number one party in Nashville, he celebrated his accomplishments with industry people at Losers Bar and knocked the tabloids.
This doesn’t come as a surprise, considering Shelton has been under the public microscope since his split from Miranda Lambert in July 2015. The two have been magnets for rumors and false accusations, but seem to be handling the price of fame well.
During his brief speech Shelton took a jab at the media.
“I”m just gonna make this really quick because everything I say is going to end up in the tabloids and it doesn’t even matter what I say, it will,” he said, “I didn’t hear two names I felt like we left out today, and one is Gwen Sebastian, who is my duet partner on ‘My Eyes,’ and the other is Ashley Monroe, who is my duet partner on ‘Lonely Tonight.’”
He went on to thank all of the songwriters who have made his career possible. Without their talent he wouldn’t be doing what he loves or celebrating “Doin’ What She Likes,” “My Eyes,” “Neon Light,” “Lonely Tonight” and “Sangria” in one night.
