Early CMA Award Winners Announced

Early CMA Award Winners Announced | Country Music Videos

CMA Awards day is here! It’s hard to believe a year has passed since Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood joked about Postpartum Taylor Swift Disorder, Kacey Musgraves sang with Loretta Lynn, and Garth Brooks presented Luke Bryan with the coveted Entertainer of the Year trophy, his first CMA award ever.
We are excited to see what kind of memorable moments are in store for this year’s awards show. Between vocal collaborations, red carpet mystery dates, and award upsets, we’re sure that this year’s show will be one for the history books.
While the 2015 CMA Awards show doesn’t take place until tonight (Nov. 4), three country acts are already celebrating. Good Morning America host Lara Spencer broadcasted live early this morning from the site of the 48th annual CMA Awards, Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, where two early winners were announced.

The news drew cheers from hundreds of fans who had gathered on the Bridgestone Arena plaza waiting to see former CMA Entertainer of the Year Tim McGraw give a free live concert.

Maddie & Tae were awarded Video of the Year honors for “Girl in a Country Song.” The duo beat out heavy-hitters Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Little Big Town, and Kacey Musgraves to earn their first ever CMA Award.

Musical Event of the Year honors went to Keith Urban and Eric Church for “Raise ‘Em Up,” beating out Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard, Blake Shelton and Ashley Monroe, Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town, and Kenny Chesney and Grace Potter.
For the 8th time, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood are hosting the 49th Annual CMA Awards that will air tonight on ABC starting at 8/7 CST.  Will you be watching?
