A Tribute To Conway Twitty’s Most Iconic Ballad, “Hello Darlin'”

With 55 number one albums, record breaking attendance at concerts, and countless awards, it’s safe to say Conway Twitty made a permanent spot for himself as a country music legend.

Thanks to hit songs like “Hello Darlin”, Twitty’s legacy will never fade. Even though many of his songs reached the top spot on the charts, “Hello Darlin'” remains Twitty’s signature song. It spent four weeks at #1, and was named the number one song of 1970. Impressive! 

We are not surprised “Hello Darlin'” had as much success as it did. The emotional ballad describes an encounter with a past flame, and the pain of the one that got away. These are lyrics anyone can relate to! 

Many artists have covered the classic song over the decades since it’s release. Below are a few of our hand picked favorites, including the 1969 performance from Twitty himself, during an afternoon session at Bradley’s Barn in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. Enjoy!
