Joey + Rory’s fighting spirit and positive outlook on life are truly inspiring. What’s even more inspiring is the fact that as they are going through this difficult time in their lives, they still think of others.
Joey is currently is hospice care after deciding to stop treatment for Stage IV cervical cancer. While she was still receiving treatment, she fulfilled her dream. She recorded a gospel album that includes hymns she grew up singing.
The album is set to release on Valentine’s Day and when their record label asked if they would like to designate a charity to donate a portion of the sales to, it was a no-brainer.
In honor of their daughter Indiana’s best friend, Scout, who has Loey-Dietz Syndrome, they chose the Loey-Dietz Syndrome Foundation. LDS is, “a connective-tissue disorder that affects her heart and a thousand other things.” Scout has been in and out of the hospital since she was born.
