Another season of ‘The Voice’ has come to a close and a new winner has been crowned. The Season 9 winner was announced during a two-hour finale Tuesday night that featured special appearances by Sam Hunt, Ricky Skaggs, Wynonna, Justin Bieber, and more.
Four finalists were competing for a record contract and some serious bragging rights. Blake Shelton had two contestants in the top 4 – Barrett Baber and Emily Ann Roberts. Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani each had one team member in the finals, Jordan Smith and Jeffery Austin, respectively, leaving Team Pharrell empty handed as they wrapped up the competition this year.
After nearly two hours of amazing performances and much-anticipated collaborations, Carson Daly announced that the winner of Season 9 of ‘The Voice’ is…Team Adam’s Jordan Smith!
Earlier this season the 22-year old shrugged off talk that he was the best singer in the competition and praised all the “special people” competing this season.
“There’s so much individuality. All of these singers have their own signature sound and I think it just proves that’s what society is looking for – something that’s different, something that’s exciting.”
Congratulations to Jordan on his well-deserved win. We can’t wait to hear more from him in the future.
