Carrie Underwood‘s husband is back in action following a leg injury earlier this month.

Mike Fisher took a hard hit to his lower body when he slammed into the wall during an NHL game on December 1st. Following the game, he was unable to put much weight on his right leg.

“He does everything on the ice. There’s not a situation that goes by on the ice at any point in the game where Mike’s not utilized”, Laviolette revealed. “He covers all areas….There’s a void there and guys have been working hard to fill that void.”

While Fisher has been injured, his country superstar wife has been working on promoting her newest hit album, Storyteller, and launched her most recent single, “Heartbeat”, the day before the injury occurred.

Fortunately, management doesn’t expect the injury to keep they player out for much longer and the 35-year-old hockey star should be returning full-time shortly. The Predators have one game left on Monday, December 21st before they take a break for Christmas.

Hopefully Carrie will get to see her husband play again soon following the holidays.
