Over the summer, Sadie Robertson took to social media to ask us to pray for a little girl named Katie Joyce.
According to Robertson’s Instagram post, Katie’s family “found out she has a brain tumor and it’s on her brain stem which [is] inoperable. The doctors say we need a miracle.“
Robertson also wrote that,”the only thing that can fix this is if we storm the gates of heaven.“
In November, Robertson took to social media again to ask for prayers because Katie’s condition had worsened. She now needed to go to St. Jude’s to start a trial round of treatment that combines two types of chemotherapy.
please pray for Katie & her family. She needs your prayers now more than ever. use #prayforKatie to send your love❤️ pic.twitter.com/w7E3Fss3V3

Sadly, Katie passed away on December 8th. Her official prayer page on Facebook announced the sad news saying,
“Kathryn ‘Katie’ Virginia Joyce at the age of 7 peacefully became an Angel on December 8, 2015 surrounded by family. ‘KK’ has touched the lives of so many demonstrating Courage, Belief, Faith, and Strength in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Despite her short life, Katie’s crowning achievement was bringing people closer to Jesus Christ.”
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorials be made to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital Neuroscience Institute.
Today, Sadie used social media to thank everyone who joined her in prayer and to let her followers know that Katie had passed away.
Katie’s family is in our thoughts during this emotional time.
