Craig Wayne Boyd had an interesting run on NBC’s ‘The Voice’. In the beginning he picked the obvious choice for a coach, Blake Shelton, but when Shelton had to let Boyd go, Gwen Stefani saved the day.
Eventually, Boyd found his way back home on Team Blake, but that doesn’t mean Team Gwen wasn’t an important factor in his success. Even a year after being crowned season 8 winner, Boyd credits Shelton and Stefani for his rise to fame.
In an interview with Ticket Sarasota, Boyd talked about his experiences on both Team Blake and Team Gwen.
He was asked about being saved by Stefani, and stolen back by Shelton. The stunt added some drama to the show, and worked out for him in the end. Referring to his time on both teams, Boyd said, “I think it was important because of our likeness in styles of music. His crowd bring fans to mine. But Gwen did really open things up to me, understanding that more people than what I thought were my demographic.”
Of course the hot topic on everyone’s mind is the new relationship between Shelton and Stefani. The two haven’t been hiding their newfound love, but perhaps they once did. Boyd was asked if he ever noticed and “romantic chemistry” between the two. He replied, “They must have hid it very well.”
Boyd just recently welcomed his second child and first daughter with fiancee, Taylor Borland. He is busy with daddy duties for now, but we can expect new music and more shows in the near future.
