The pair known as Big & Rich, have been known for sending out super-hits like "Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy)", but today they are making headlines in a way nobody wishes to.

Big Kenny Alphin and his family have suffered a tremendous loss today with the passing of his mother, Mary Strother Tinsley Alphin.

His family posted a statement on social media expressing their appreciation for the support everyone has been giving to them.

“Thank you everybody for sending your love and concerns regarding the passing of our beautiful mother. We greatly appreciate your beautiful and overwhelming support we have all received. We know this happened quickly.”

Kenny's wife, Christiev, shared some of her grief with fans on the post as well.

"I already miss you, Mary. You still had a lot to teach me and cherish all that you did. Thank you for bringing my Kenny into the world, [and] gifting me, my boys (and the world) with love and 'Big Kenny' kind of music."

The sweet-hearted daughter-in-law continues her sentiment with beautiful words to her lost loved one.

“Thank you for instilling the passion of all things flowers and gardens, every time I watch him whistling with a total joy and peace tending to the earth and gardens. I will think of you and thank you. P.S. Hug Jesus for me.

We are keeping Big Kenny, Christiev, and his family in our thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
