It has been decades since Dolly Parton co-starred alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin in the popular film 9 to 5. Even though Fonda and Tomlin recently reunited to star in the hit Netflix series, Grace and Frankie, Parton's busy schedule has kept her from joining them. But as Parton shared with The Hollywood Reporter, that may change soon.
Grace and Frankie was released on May, 8, 2015, with Fonda and Tomlin playing the roles of two woman whose husbands leave them for one another. The show follows the drama and comedy surrounding Grace and Frankie's lives as newly-single women for the first time in over 20 years.
The show has been a huge hit with Netflix users, and due to fan demand the service decided to create a second season of the show. Season 2 of Grace and Frankie is set to premire on May 6, 2016, and may feature a special guest star.
Parton revealed that she would be more than willing to make a guest appearance on the show, saying, "I told them whenever I get a little block of time, I'd love to come be on the show. We always talked about a [9 to 5] reunion."
Since Fonda and Tomlin's characters' husbands left them on the show, Parton is curious to know what her husband character would be like if she made a guest appearance.
"I don't know what my husband [on the show] is going to turn out to be," said Parton, "but we'll figure it out."
We're excited for the potential reunion between Parton and her 9 to 5 costars! Tune in below to watch a series of outtakes and bloopers of Parton, Fonda, and Tomlin in 9 to 5.
We can't wait to see this talented trio together again!
