Adele singing country music? May seem like an unlikely pairing, and yet, here we are. Darius Rucker enlisted the international pop sensation to join him in a breathtaking duet of Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now."
With her powerful vocals and heart-wrenching passion poured into each of her performances, it's no wonder the young singer was invited be apart of the prestigious CMT Artists of the Year ceremony back in 2010. Their sultry rendition of the song noticeably brings Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott to tears.
Even though the inclusion of Adele in the night may seem random, the singer has a deep connection with the emotional country ballad, crediting "Need You Now" as the inspiration behind her heartbreaking ballad "Don't You Remember."
"What gave me the courage to try to do that musically was 'Need You Now'," shared Adele with CMT. "You couldn’t escape it and, luckily, I loved it! Or it would have been awful! But the feeling the song gave me, I was trying to channel it in my own song."
You can watch the tear-jerking performance in the video below.
