Kelly Clarkson Teases BIG Announcement With Song

Countless singers in the music industry have been forced to take vocal rest due to strains on their vocal chords. 

Vocal rest is forced by infections that cause hoarseness in the voice, and the only thing that can heal the vocal chords is by not singing or speaking whatsoever.

During her Piece By Piece Tour, Kelly Clarkson was put on vocal rest per doctor’s orders and had to cancel the remainder of her tour, which she was not happy about.

At the time, she expressed her feelings on Twitter. “I can’t wait to get healthy and see y’all back on the road soon. I hate canceling,” she wrote.

She has not sung since sending that tweet, and she is FINALLY able to show her fans the result of that vocal rest.

In a Facebook Live video, Clarkson let us into her home for a performance of Otis Redding’s “These Arms Of Mine”.

In the video, she teases that she has a big surprise brewing, but won’t let us in on the secret until Friday (June 24). She will be doing a Facebook Live video everyday until Friday and singing a different song everyday.

At her concerts, she has a special “Fan Request” section where fans can send her songs to sing, but since she can’t sing them all, she decided that each of these four songs will be previously requested songs from fans!

Clarkson also reveals that the songs have something in common, which is the “hint for the week”.

Before stepping behind the piano to sing “These Arms Of Mine”, she warns viewers of her excitement. 

“I haven’t been able to sing in like forever because I was on vocal rest, which sucks,” she says. “So, if I get carried away and do all my white girl runs, I’m sorry! I’m just excited to sing!”

We LOVE your runs, Kelly! Do not apologize for that!

After the absolutely incredible performance, she teased her top secret announcement again, making us antsy!

“It might be the coolest announcement for y’all! It’s the coolest announcement for me as an artist and I don’t want to ruin it!” she says.
