During what could easily be described as a performer's worst nightmare, country star Lauren Alaina proved she's a born pro with some quick thinking during a recent show at the Mohegan Sun Resort in Connecticut.

The American Idol alum and country songstress showed her fun-loving and spirited side when she experienced a massive technical malfunction during the opening of her show.

Stepping out to kick off the show with a song off her new album, Road Less Traveled, Alaina quickly realized that her microphone was not working. Trying to keep up with the show, she moved across the stage to the other two microphones hoping that one of them would work.

Unfortunately, something had gone terribly wrong and all the microphones were cut from the feed. Looking around at her bandmates, Alaina let them know what was happening and they leapt into action.

Not wanting to leave her wonderful and understanding audience hanging, Alaina powered through part of the song with no mic, and you can hear the power as she belts it out to the crowd.

To continue the performance, she stopped singing while they fixed the issue and instead decided to start telling the audience jokes!

Truly, she's a high-caliber artist who knows how to keep the audience happy even after something like that happened!

Check out the video below and listen to Lauren Alaina's hysterical joke!
