After Trying Year, Country Singer Gets Huge Blessing

This adorable country music singer and songwriter has an amazing reason to smile today – and just days after celebrating her own birthday!

Jamie Lynn Spears, who is known for her country music songwriting and Top 40 hit, “How Could I Want More,” has just welcomed her second child – and she couldn’t be happier!

Spears and husband Jamie Watson were ecstatic to share their amazing news with the world and invited People Magazine into the hospital room for an exclusive look at their booming family.

The former Disney Channel actress and singer/songwriter welcomed a baby girl, Ivey Joan Watson, on April 11th, 2018 – just after 10 a.m. Little Ivey joins the family as little sister to 9-year-old Maddie Briann, and the first child for Spears and Watson.

“Looks like we are starting off 2018 with another big milestone … sooo happy to announce that Maddie is FINALLY going to be a big sister,” Spears revealed in a social media post announcing her pregnancy. “2017 was filled with some of the biggest challenges of my life, as well as some of the biggest blessings, so I made a choice to lay low this year to focus on truly becoming my best self as a person and as an artist.”

Sharing her family’s great news with People, Spears says that they are “beyond excited” about the addition of Ivey Joan – and even chose her name to honor someone who meant a great deal to her.

“Her middle name, Joan, is to honor my Aunt Sandra, who passed away 10 years ago from ovarian cancer. She was the most graceful woman I’ve ever known,” Spears explained.

This new baby is just one in a series of great blessings for Spears in the last several years. In 2017, Spears’ daughter Maddie was involved in a terrifying ATV accident that left her submerged in a pond for several minutes before rescuers arrived.

Thankfully, Maddie made a full recovery and Spears has cherished every moment of the second chance with her treasured daughter. This blessing only adds to her family’s immense joy.
