Just a few short days before he will be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, country legend Alan Jackson unveiled a new song from his first album in two years – and gave fans a taste of what’s to come!

Titled, “The Older I Get,” his newest musical project is a tune dedicated to looking back on a long life, and simultaneously looking forward to what will come. There is no lamenting about reaching a certain age, but rather, a joy of wisdom and remembrance that comes with great experiences.

“The older I get / The more thankful I feel / For the life I’ve had / And all the life I’m living still.”

Jackson is set to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame on Sunday, October 22nd, 2017 and with such a momentous occasion on the horizon, releasing this new song was a perfect way to celebrate.

“This song reflects a lot of how I feel these days,” Jackson says of the new song in a press release. “It’s a good song; I really liked it, but the message was a little different when I first heard it. I thought maybe it could be a little more positive about being older and wiser and more content, so they rewrote a few things, and this is how it ended up.”

Check out this warm, melodic new song about getting older and enjoying every second of it from one of the most recognized singers in the industry!
