In recent months, the Campbell family's name has been making the news due to a highly-publicized conflict between his older children from previous marriages and his current wife of over 30 years, Kim, with whom he has three children, Cal, Shannon, and Ashley.
After Glen revealed his diagnosis with Alzheimer's in 2011, he went on a final Farewell Tour before his condition worsened. Kim eventually made the decision to place him in a care facility in Nashville, and he is now in the final stage of the disease.
When Kim placed Glen in the care facility, two of his oldest children, Debby and Travis, took legal action against her. In a petition obtained by the Associated Press, Debby and Travis claimed that Kim was preventing them from visiting their father and that they were unable to participate in his care.
In May of this year Debby and Travis witnessed the passage of a bill into law in Tennessee which they had championed, called the Campbell Falk Bill. According to The Daily Banner, the new law "protects a person who have become wards of the State or who have conservators controlling their finances, day to day living, and visitation." Since then, Debby and Travis have gone to visit their father.
But on Thursday (August 11), Kim shared a statement on her Facebook page through her attorney, Lisa Bloom, disputing all of the previous claims made by Debby, Travis, and others who say she has prevented Glen's older children from visiting him:
"Without any factual support [Debby and Travis] claim that Mrs. Campbell won't let them see their father. No family member has ever been denied visitation with Glen Campbell. They may visit their father whenever they like and Mrs. Campbell encourages them to do so...On her behalf we demand that all those spreading lies about Mrs. Campbell immediately cease and desist from doing so and promptly retract false statements that have been made about her, or face serious legal consequences."
An hour after her mother released her attorney's statement, Ashley shared a message of her own on Facebook, expressing her desire to "speak the truth" to her father's fans. In her post, Ashley stated that her father would be "so angry" with Debby and Travis over their behavior, and she expressed her support for her mother, praising her for all she has done to care for Glen:
"My mother Kim has endured unspeakable heartache and has selflessly and lovingly cared for my dad through every step of his disease and continues to do so. She has never denied any of his children a visit including Debby and Travis who see him regularly yet continue to spread malicious lies about her...They have visitation rights, so what else do they want? One answer: the limelight."

We'll continue to keep Glen and his family in our prayers.
