Billy Gilman Makes Shocking Coach Choice On ‘The Voice’

The internet has been on fire today after the blind audition video for Billy Gilman was leaked by “The Voice.” It’s been 16 years since Gilman rose to country music fame after his debut album went double platinum and he became the youngest country artist to land a Top 40 single on the country charts. But, the years since have been quiet for Gilman. 

He can expect that to change now that he is becoming a clear frontrunner for the Season 11 ‘Voice’ title. All four judges turned their chairs and begged Billy to join their team following his stunning performance of Adele’s “When We Were Young.”

A sneak peek of Gilman’s blind audition was leaked early Tuesday (September 20), but left fans wondering who the talented singer was going to choose as his coach. Would he go with a veteran coach like Adam Levine or Blake Shelton? Would he choose newcomer Alicia Keys? Or, would he choose Miley Cyrus whose father Gilman opened for more than a decade ago? 

After a lot of thought by Gilman and not-so-gentle persuasion by the coaches, Billy chose to reject his country music connections and join Team Adam!
