In a surprising turn of events, Blake Shelton made an announcement Wednesday (Aug 17) that nobody saw coming!
He has been releasing videos just about every day talking about his upcoming tour and giving fans a behind the scenes look at his preparation. He’s also reminded fans to sign up to become a “BS’er” for exclusive info about his big announcement, but nobody knew what it would be!
Turns out, he and his good buddy, Luke Bryan, will be reuniting! Unfortunately, they aren’t reuniting to host next year’s ACM Awards, but they will be headlining a festival together!
“In 2017, January, I’m gonna be joining my friend, Luke Bryan, at the Crash My Playa Festival that he does down there in the Cancun, Mexico area,” he said in the video announcement.
According to the festival’s Facebook page, “Crash My Playa is a 4-night intimate, tropical country concert experience, on the beach at an all-inclusive resort in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. With five incredible tropical resorts to choose from, Crash My Playa is an opportunity to stick your feet in the sand and dance by the waves to the music of the world’s hottest country music stars.”
Previous Crash My Playa headliners included Dierks Bentley, Florida Georgia Line, and Cole Swindell.
While Bryan is set to headline two nights and Shelton is set for one, there’s no saying that these two won’t reunite on stage! They are super hilarious together, which is why their stint as ACM Awards co-hosts went so well! Watch them razz each other at the awards show below.
“I hope you guys are gonna be there to tell me what happens because there’s a good chance I’m not gonna remember this night,” Shelton says.
