After over a year of dating and showing no sign of slowing down anytime soon, fans of country singer Blake Shelton have yet to drop their ongoing fascination with his relationship with international popstar Gwen Stefani.
While the couple has remained mostly silent on the matter of the harsh criticism they’ve received since coming out publicly as a couple in late 2015, many people have been left wondering if they notice or care about what people have said about them. Following the “Misery” singer’s return to Season 12 of The Voice, Shelton has finally broken silence on the criticizers of his relationship.
“I don’t think it’s mellowed out, really,” Shelton told Today’s Carson Daly according to E! News. “I think we don’t pay as much attention anymore. We’re numb to it.”
While the couple chooses to ignore the opinions others have of their relationship, they cannot seem to get over the headlines constantly flowing through the news. From accusations of them being “already married” to Stefani being pregnant with a “set of twins,” it seems like just about everything has been said about them.
However, even though they may get annoyed with the insane stories being made up about them on a daily basis, Shelton admits he understands the fascination with his relationship.
“In people’s defense, I think it’s so hard for people to wrap their head around why Gwen would want to be with me,” admitted Shelton. “I don’t blame ’em.”
We’re sure she feels the same about him! You can catch the happy couple on Season 12 of The Voice airing Monday’s and Tuesday’s on NBC!
