When George Strait told fans, “We are working on putting together relief efforts along with the whole country music community,” maybe this is what he meant.

On Wednesday (August 30), TMZ reported that rapper and Houston native Bun B, who also had a huge part in organizing Ariana Grande’s One Love Manchester benefit concert, is organizing a telethon that will take place on September 12.

TMZ reports that the Houston telethon will be aired live in primetime by major TV networks and will be taking place in three different cities – Los Angeles, New York City, and Nashville.

The Nashville portion of the telethon will reportedly be hosted by country music superstar Blake Shelton and Southern actress Reese Witherspoon. Jamie Foxx and Hilary Duff, who was born and raised in Houston, are slated to host the show in L.A. and fellow Houston native Michael Strahan will take charge of the New York broadcast.

Foxx confirmed the telethon in an Instagram video on Tuesday (August 29).

Although TMZ reports that the telethon will only be one hour long, which limits time for performances, every dollar counts. No word on who the performers will be, but since there is a Nashville portion of the telethon, our instincts tell us some big country stars will be in attendance.

If you’d like to donate to the Salvation Army to help victims that are affected by Hurricane Harvey before the telethon takes place, click here.

We will keep Houston and the surrounding areas in our prayers.
