Even though A&E now only airs re-runs of 12-year-old Zachary King's favorite show, Duck Dynasty, he still loves watching it.
"He's seen every episode more than once," the boy's mother Heather King told The News-Star.
According to MyArklaMiss.com, King has two life-threatening diseases, Chiari malformation, which is a structural defect in the cerebellum that affects his balance, and Ehlers-Danlos Type 3, which is a rare genetic connective tissue disorder. The news outlet also reports that he is blind in his left eye and has suffered from chronic body pain almost his entire life.
Thanks to the organization Kids Wish Network, King was able to get his biggest wish granted, to meet the family from his favorite television show!
Zachary told The News Star one of the main reasons he loves Duck Dynasty is because the show is centered around their faith.
"I love the way they kept the Lord in the show. And I love everything about hunting and fishing," he said.
He also revealed that he enjoys the hysterical hijinks the Robertsons always find themselves in. Zachary said, "It makes me laugh."
The Robertson clan loves meeting fans but they definitely have a soft spot in their hearts for kids.
"When we see kids like Zack you start seeing what's really important in life," Willie said. "Laughter is always great medicine."
The guys also took time to pray with and for Zachary, with Phil leading the way.
"We unashamedly pray for Zack," Phil said, according to The News Star. "We ask you go over and beyond what doctors can do and pray to heal his body."
We are so happy there are people out there like the Robertsons who help put smiles on faces of children who don't usually have a lot to smile about. To take their mind off their diagnosis for a few minutes is what it's all about.
