Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood did two legends justice with an incredible cover that had viewers at the edge of their seats and ready for more nostalgia!
The two singers modernized their rendition of an inspiring, classic song to honor the greats while showcasing their undeniable talents. Tackling the tune head-on during her 2009 special titled Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special, Underwood invited Paisley to a Skype session in order to bring the two stars together from distant locations.
After a bit of jokes, the two began to sing the timeless hit “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man”, giving their duet an extra dose of fire and sass. “Hey, Louisiana woman, Mississippi man/ We get together every time we can/ The Mississippi River can’t keep us apart/ There’s too much love in the Mississippi heart/ Too much love in this Louisiana heart,” they passionately sang.
Released in May 1973 as the first single and title track from the album of the same name, “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man” was Conway and Loretta’s third number one on the country chart as a duo!
