Luke Bryan has secured the gig of a lifetime! The CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year will sing the National Anthem as part of Super Bowl LI.
The Super Bowl is the most watched televised sports event each year, and this will be Bryan's first time to perform for the event.
Bryan announced the news via Instagram video.
Bryan is only the 6th country music artist to perform the Anthem prior to the Super Bowl. Charley Pride (1974), Garth Brooks (1993), Faith Hill (2000), the Dixie Chicks (2003) and Carrie Underwood (2010) each represented the genre when they took their turn on the Super Bowl stage.
Super Bowl LI is scheduled to take place on February 5 at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. Actor Kriston Lee Pumphrey will perform the National Anthem in American Sign Language. Lady Gaga is scheduled to perform at halftime.
