Carrie Underwood was subjected to much criticism during the 2017 Golden Globes when viewers relentlessly bashed her elegant fashion. Glowing in a light pink gown, complete with various cutouts embodying her waist and an array of ruffles replicating a floral display, Underwood was an image of beauty and grace.
However, not all were fans, as her image was almost immediately shredded by social media users, comparing her gown selection to an extravagant cake or pastry. Although the comparison was distasteful and identified as insulting by those who supported the star, Underwood refused to let the negativity phase her big night, let alone her confidence!
Sitting down with Yahoo Beauty, Underwood explained that her system for choosing her coveted gowns is more of a trial and error method in which she dives right into her prospective dresses and chooses what she feels powerful in. "I just want things that make me feel good. That’s what it’s all about. That was me. I felt confident and ladylike. I liked the color and the ruffles," she proudly explained.
Unfortunately, this was not Underwood's first rodeo with hateful comments and comparison, as her NBC-aired performance in The Sound Of Music Live! was heavily criticized and slammed. Yet again, the country star had nothing but love and words of wisdom for her critics. "Plain and simple: Mean people need Jesus. They will be in my prayers tonight…”
You go, girl! We are so proud to see this classy beauty taking the high road and rising above the hateful remarks! What did you think of her dress?
