Carrie Underwood Rocks Fiery Red Dress For NFL Sunday Night Football Opener

NFL on NBC

Sunday Night Football is back…and so is Carrie Underwood! For the fifth year in a row, Underwood is doing the honors of singing the Sunday Night Football theme song. Prior to the season opener between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants on Sunday night (September 10), fans were treated to the premiere of the 2017-2018 theme song.

In the video, Underwood is joined by some of the NFL’s biggest stars including the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Antonio Brown, the Denver Broncos’ Von Miller and Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys as she sings “Oh, Sunday Night,” a remake of her  “Somethin’ Bad” duet with Miranda Lambert.

In an effort to keep the opening fresh and new, the video’s directors made some minor changes to the song and worked to give the video a “dramatic” and “superhero-like” feel as Underwood and the players lead fans through the cities of their favorite teams.

“They always feel like they make everything bigger and more grand than the year before,” Underwood says of the NBC Sports team. “Here I feel like they wanted a theme of unity amongst all the sports fans. Everybody’s tuning in. Everybody’s got their teams that they’re rooting for.”

The video, which took three days and a seven-figure budget to shoot, is sure to get you fired up for your favorite team! Check out Carrie Underwood and 10 of the NFL’s hottest players in the Sunday Night Football opening video below.
