Country music legend Charlie Daniels urges his fellow Americans to give the newly inaugurated Donald Trump a fair shot at leading the nation following the explosion of anti-Trump demonstrations this past weekend.
In a passionate article posted to his website, the country singer implores the left to allow Trump to do his job, reminding them the president was put into office by those who felt voiceless in the years prior.
“[Trump] was elected fair and square and – regardless of what a negative media and self-serving political figures may claim – Trump did not win the election because of Russian hacking or any other outside influence, but because of the votes of working people who felt they were being left out of the process," wrote Daniels. "Americans who saw their individual rights threatened by a continuation of bigger and bigger government, dangerous fiscal policies and the disappearance of their jobs.”
The country singer goes on to criticize the Democrats berating Trump for his list of promises by reminding him their party has come in year after year with their own list of false promises.
“Give him a chance,” Charlie explains. “He’s made a lot of promises, he’s set the bar very high, so let’s see what happens in the next few months...The sky hasn’t fallen in, the world hasn’t stopped spinning and we still breathe free air.”
The "Devil Went Down to Georgia" singer concluded his article by inviting his readers to join him in prayer for our nation's troops and for peace in Jerusalem.
