25-year old country singer Abby Nicole, born Abby Uecker, passed away early Sunday morning after an accident at the fairgrounds where she had been performing with her band.

According to local news sources, authorities responded to a report that a woman was injured near the racetrack while riding in a utility task vehicle (UTV). The victim was transported to Thayer County Health Services in Hebron where Abby Uecker, of Norfolk, was pronounced dead. An investigation is ongoing.

Chad Barnhill, a drummer and vocalist for Abby Nicole & County Road, honored his bandmate with a moving Facebook post on Sunday.

“I miss you soooo much Abby Nicole… you were ready to be the One Me we talked about,” Barnhill wrote. “I Will Always Love You Abby. I promise to celebrate your Life with others. You touched so many lives. Especially mine. Music is a Gift That Lasts a Lifetime. Thank You for being my Gift.”

In 2016, Abby recorded her first EP and released her first single, “Cool.” Since the song’s release she had the honor of sharing the stage with country stars Kip Moore, Clare Dunn, Chase Bryant and Kane Brown.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.
