Country Singer’s Unique ‘Ring Of Fire’ Cover Earns Four Chair Turn During ‘Voice’ Audition

The Voice/YouTube

The Voice Season 12 blind auditions are well underway, and up until now, very few country artists have taken the stage. But, that’s all about to change.

During a sneak peek video for Monday night’s (March 12) episode, Country and Americana singer Valerie Ponzio delivers a unique and jaw-dropping performance of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.” The stunning cover earned the 32-year old El Paso, Texas, native a four-chair turn.

“You are the most well-rounded singer, I think for this particular panel of judges, that I’ve really kind of ever heard. Amazing!” coach Adam Levine tells Ponzio.

As the judges battle it out over the singer, Ponzio tells them that while each of them were huge influences on her, she idolized Gwen growing up.

“I just was so obsessed with you, and I just thought you were so amazing,” Ponzio tells the panel.

Ponzio, dubbed Country Music’s Adele on her website, will choose her coach during Monday night’s episode of The Voice. In the meantime, check out her dynamic performance of “Ring of Fire” in the video below.
