Artists could fill volumes with stories of special moments they’ve experience throughout their careers. But, every now and then a moment comes along that trumps all others they’ve had the opportunity to be a part of. Such is the case for Sam Hunt who got to share an incredible moment with a special lady in his life….his grandmother.

During his sold-out 15 in a 30 Tour stop at Madison Square Garden in September 2017, Hunt’s grandmother had a front row seat to see her grandson perform. The 82-year old’s reaction was caught on tape in a since-deleted social media post by Hunt who said that it was one of his favorite moments from his summer tour.

Hunt has made it clear in the past that he has a special relationship with his family and he credits them for keeping him grounded when his music career took off.

“Who I was, was a product of the relationships with my family, the environment that I grew up in, and all those things… I kind of put them back when I got into music, and my lifestyle changed dramatically,” he said to media in 2016. “That is still very important to me.”

Hunt wrapped his first headlining tour in 2017 and will be releasing his much-anticipated sophomore album in April 2020.
