On Friday (May 5), Country legend and American treasure Loretta Lynn was hospitalized after suffering a stroke. The country music community rallied together, sending her prayers and well wishes for a speedy recovery.
Her team released a statement on her Facebook page saying, "she is currently under medical care and is responsive and expected to make a full recovery."
She has been advised by her doctors to rest, which means all of her upcoming concert dates have been postponed. Some of Lynn's family members have provided a small update on her health, according to WSMV-TV.
Her assistant, daughter, and granddaughter, "say she is doing better each day and is sitting up in her recliner, laughing and talking."
Although she's expected to make a full recovery, she is not completely out of the woods yet. Her sister, country singer Crystal Gayle, took to Twitter to ask fans to continue keeping Lynn in their prayers.
"Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes for Loretta," she wrote. "Keep them coming!"
She also added that the entire family is lucky "to have wonderful doctors and nurses taking great care of her. Plus, they have to put up with our dramatic and crazy family and friends."
Our continued prayers will be with Loretta Lynn and her family.
