After getting benched for a couple races last week, the racing superstar is making headlines again, but this time it's for something that set off alarms at his PR team's office.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. has been focused on his return to the track for the last several weeks and has been steadily making progress in terms of recovery and rehabilitation under several doctors' care for injuries sustained in a crash during a NASCAR race.
He has exhibited symptoms indicative of head trauma and a severe concussion, so they are taking extra precautions to make sure he is healthy before allowing him to return to the track.
But beyond his recovery, Dale Jr. caused waves with the public recently when he posted a photo to social media that indicated he was already married!
"DALE EARNHARDT JR. IS MARRIED. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. JUNIOR IS MARRIED." NASCAR writes on their website.
Panic basically ensued after the photo appeared that shows a form with his marriage status labeled as "married", when it had never been announced that he and fiancee Amy Reimann had actually tied the knot.
Dale Jr. and Amy got engaged just last June, so you can imagine his fan's shock when it appeared that he had gone "shotgun wedding" style on them!
But, all is not as it seems...and it seems that people need to start reading a bit more. In the NASCAR article it clearly outlines that Dale Jr.'s caption on the photo would have saved some people from panicking, but that's not what happened.
According to his interview with Mike Davis during 'The Dale Jr. Download', it was a mistake that happened on a form he'd gone to collect and he thought seeing it in print was a remarkable moment, so he shared that with his fans.
"You sort of caused a little bit of a ruckus over the weekend, did you know that? ... You sent off 100 fire alarms for the PR people," Davis says to the racing star.
"I did not know that people didn't read," Earnhardt said laughing.
