Danica Patrick didn’t end her NASCAR career as she had hoped at the Daytona 500. With just 19 laps left to go in Stage 2 of Sunday’s race (February 18), Patrick got caught up in a crash that left her crawling out of her car for the last time.

Danica was checked for injuries at the infield care center then spoke to FOX briefly where she gave her thoughts on the crash.

“I feel like the whole thing was picture perfect, but it just wasn’t meant to be today. That’s the gamble of Daytona. I’m grateful for everything, and thank you to all the fans. I have one more,” 35-year old Patrick said.

The Daytona 500 was indeed Danica’s last NASCAR race, but she will take to the track once more in May when she races an Indy Car at the Indianapolis 500 before retiring for good.

Danica finishes her NASCAR Cup career with 191 starts, 0 wins, 0 top-fives, 7 top-10s and one pole. She also was running at the finish in 161 races and had 73 lead-lap finishes.
