Dolly Parton Reacts To Shania Twain Singing Her Beloved Song

This country legend watched as the queen of country-pop sang her own rendition of the classic hit that was written about her childhood.

Taking the stage at The Kennedy Center and featuring bluegrass icon, Alison Krauss, as a backup vocalist, Shania Twain strummed her guitar and poured herself into this cover of “Coat of Many Colors.”

Perched high above the main audience in her own box seats, Dolly Parton looked on through the performance as part of the 2006 Kennedy Center Honors.

Moving through each verse and blending her voice effortlessly with Krauss’, Twain sang out to Dolly in a tribute that celebrated how impactful her music had been on the world.

Dolly looked on with glistening eyes and a bright heart, singing some of the verses to herself, enjoying each note that rang out across the room.
