The actor known for his title role in the beloved hit 1980s TV show has been arrested in Massachusetts this week, reports People Magazine.
According to the news outlet, 65-year-old Tom Wopat, who played Luke Duke in the original Dukes of Hazzard television series, was arrested on a warrant and charged with multiple crimes – one of which was allegedly connected to his recent stage production of 42nd Street.
Wopat is starring in a production of 42nd Street in Massachusetts and has been charged with both indecent assault and cocaine possession. According to TMZ, the first charge stems from allegations that he put his hands down the pants of a woman who was working on the show and the cocaine possession charge was brought forth after they arrested him and discovered he had the drug on his person.
The longtime TV star and singer has remained in the spotlight since his timeless performance on ‘Hazzard’ and has continued to appear in television series, movies, and has recorded eight full-length albums of music. Most recently, he has been working on this stage production of 42nd Street and is slated to appear in several new movies this year.
