After getting a call that his dad was going in for an emergency procedure, the country star learned that he had lost a massive amount of blood after an aneurism ruptured in his stomach.
For a long time, Jason Michael Carroll had shared his frustrations with his father’s health and the care from his local VA Hospital, but a recent update from the singer carried a much more solemn note.
On Friday, September 23rd, Carroll asked for prayers from his fans on Facebook after sharing with them that his father was being taken in for an emergency procedure. His father remained in the hospital since that time, but tragically – his condition did not improve.
“Dad lost 7 units of blood from an aneurism that ruptured in his stomach,” the singer writes alongside a photo of him traveling to see his father. “The doctor was surprised he made it to the hospital with that much blood loss. His surgery went well but his body isn’t working the way it should.”
It was this aneurism that prompted the emergency surgery with doctors saying that his follow up evening was “fair”, but remained cautious.
Tragically, his father passed away late last night, September 27th, in the hospital. The singer uploaded a photo of him holding his father’s hand and saying “Goodbye Daddy…I love you.”
Carroll is best known for his hits from the early 2000s like “Alyssa Lies”, “Livin’ Our Love Song” and “I Can Sleep When I’m Dead”. He scored multiple Top 40 hits, and has continued to dazzle country fans everywhere with his impressive sound and talents.
We are keeping the Carroll family in our prayers during this very difficult time.
