America's Got Talent judge Simon Cowell was taken to a hospital Friday morning after falling down the stairs at his London home.
A rep confirmed the news to PEOPLE after 58-year-old Cowell was seen being loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher wearing a neck brace.
“It’s been a scary morning,” the rep told The Sun. “It was very early and Simon was going down his stairs to get some hot milk because he couldn’t sleep. He fainted and is thought to have fallen down the stairs.”
Simon was found by his security team who called paramedics. Initial fears were that Cowell may have broken his back or had suffered spinal injuries.
Cowell remained in the hospital most of Friday as he underwent tests including scans on his spine, neck and back but was released late in the afternoon. The former American Idol judge spoke briefly to journalists after he returned home saying, “I’m feeling OK. I fainted. I just had a bit of concussion.” He was seen being helped up the stairs to his home.
We wish Simon a full and speedy recovery!
