Country music legend George Strait's birthday is serving as a record breaking occasion for one Texas honky tonk, utilizing the singer's monumental day to create a hopefully unforgettable memory of their own! Stampede Houston, a thrilling country venue housing some of the best acts and music, will be hosting a dance-a-thon for a noble cause and prospective world class title.
"Dancing for a Cure" allows couples to enroll in the competition and attempt to break the world record for the longest partner dance, currently held at a whopping duration of 38 hours and 31 seconds. According to Chron, couples will be given chances for rest, writing, "Their feet must be moving at all times and there are allocated rest periods included, five minutes every hour which can be rolled in together for longer periods."
The proceeds from the potentially record breaking night will be donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). The event is currently underway and is expected to carry into tomorrow to meet the record requirements! Be sure to keep an eye on this riveting event and wish these daring couples good luck! Of course, we wish a happy birthday to the "King Of Country", as well!
