Blake Shelton has been on a roll lately with his first two singles off of his latest album, If I’m Honest. The first single, “Came Here to Forget,” hit number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, while the second, “She’s Got a Way With Words,” peaked at the seventh spot.
It’s been over three months since Shelton released “She’s Got a Way With Words,” and now he may finally have its follow-up single ready for release.
Headline Planet reports that Shelton’s alleged new single is called, “A Guy with a Girl,” which was featured as the eighth track on If I’m Honest. The song was written by Ashley Gorley (“Good Girl,” “Play It Again) and Bryan Simpson (“Yeah,” “Better Than I Used to Be).
The affectionate tune is told from the perspective of a guy who describes how much attention his girlfriend gets. As he sings, he reveals that no one seems to notice him when she’s in the room, saying he’s “just a guy with a girl.”
According to Headline Planet‘s report, “A Guy With a Girl” will be given to country radio programmers to start playing on September 26. But luckily for you, there’s no need to wait that long to hear the tune! We’ve included the official audio clip below, so be sure to give it a listen.
If “A Guy With a Girl,” is indeed Shelton’s next single, then we have a feeling it will be yet another big hit for him.
