Next month marks the one year anniversary the world of country music became entwined with the the world of pop. That's right, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani will be celebrating their one year anniversary together this November and Stefani is finally opening up on her high profile relationship with her former Voice costar.
“It’s weird!” she tells PEOPLE regarding their milestone. “I was thinking about that because I feel like last year at this time, I went and took my kids to go see The Sound of Music for my birthday. You do that. You go, ‘Where was I last year?'”
Stefani continues on saying it's been a life-changing year and that she's thankful for how welcoming his fans have been since she entered the picture. The popstar has made multiple surprise appearances at the country star's concerts with performances of their romantic duet "Go Ahead and Break My Heart."
"That was a really cool thing to be able to get up and cross-pollinate in another world,” says Stefani. “He wanted me to come out and do the song, which I was like, ‘Duh!’ I want do to it as many times as we can.”
The "Used to Love You" singer admits it was a bit of a shock the first time she performed for country fans, describing it as a "completely different world" but that his fans have been "so warm and sweet" to her.
So anything new to share? “I can’t say anything but I’m so blessed...It’s just crazy how much happened, you know what I mean? So many beautiful memories.”
